How it Works

1. Call NWP staff to set an in-person application meeting.
    (303.936.2688 or 1-877-8INDIAN)

The application process can take more than one hour and consists of:

  • Filling out necessary forms and paper-work
  • Attending a group NWP orientation
  • Completing required assessments
  • Discussing career goals and job readiness
  • Setting next appointment with job counselor
  • PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALL DOCUMENTS REGARDING ELIGIBILITY

2. Create an Individual Employment Plan (IEP).

The IEP sets short- and long-range goals to map and guide the NWP experience and eventual outcomes. The DIC is encouraging the support of not only community, but family as well. During the development of the IEP, staff will encourage family participation to build effective and supported plans. The following are examples of what is included in the IEP:

  • Accessing other resources, scholarships, programs and classes
  • Work experience strategy, when available
  • Training, technical or vocational learning strategy
  • End target goals of employment

3. Implement the plan.

All IEPs will vary and every participant's experience may, and likely will, be unique. IEPs may include incentives, support assistance, tuition assistance and other strategies to help with stability, retention and employment. IEP's may take up to a year to complete.

The amount of available resources is limited. Availability of resources are based on NWP eligibility, alignment with local/regional workforce trends, veteran status, and past NWP experiences. Participants must be 18 years or older.
