About: Founded by Thomas Talache (Tommy T) former Governor of Nambe Pueblo (Tribe of Tewa Indians – New Mexico) in 1999 as a way to keep the youth in his Tribe active and drug free - The Rez Crew is nationally known and has even been on CBS News – “The Early Morning Show” and profiled in the American Indian Report – “Spotlight Section”.

Tommy T’s work with Native youth in show business and performing arts is also featured on a nationally distributed and award winning documentary film titled, “When Your Hands Are Tied”, which is a top film pick for youth motivation.  To see the trailer of the film you can go to www.whenyourhandsaretied.org or you can go to www.youtube.com and search for “When Your Hands Are Tied” and the video trailer is posted there as well.

Since 1999, the Rez Crew has had over 150 students from various Tribal Nations that have been a part of their ensemble of performers.  They currently have a core group of eight members.  This could be your chance to begin to learn how to dance and you might be selected to join the team.  The best performers/and well behaved students are featured in Rez Crew shows for the public that are scheduled and happen ongoing.  Their most recent show was for the United States Air Force - Space Wing Division.  Rez Crew has even performed for the National Congress of American Indians - Presidential Gala Event in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was asked to represent the State of New Mexico in a cultural exchange with China, and many many other prominent events.

Other instruction includes costuming, djing, lighting, sound, and a whole range of other performing arts/show business topics.  Beginning, intermediate, and advance choreography is also taught.

Rez Crew dancers also perform traditional dances, such as the White Buffalo, Comanche, Spear Dance, etc.  They also have a choir, which performs with them at other events, so there is a wide-range of performing arts that they are doing that you can become a part of in time and practice.

Older adults - you’re never too old either to get back into doing what you used to love to do.  Tommy T welcomes all the former breakers (1980’s) to come renew your love for dance and share what you used to do again with our youth and for yourselves.  You will stay in shape

Take if from me – Tommy T - I turned 40 this year, but most people think I am in my late 20’s/Early 30’s.  Dancing will keep you fit and looking young!
