Lakota/Cheyenne/Arapaho/Taos/Meskwaki/Ojibwa
The Denver Indian Center is honored to announce the 2011-2012 Denver Indian Center Princess, Katrina Ann Her Many Horses.
Katrina is the 13 year old daughter of Terra Trujillo and Chuntay Her Many Horses. She is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. She is the granddaughter of Kim and Pat Trujillo, Chico and Julie Her Many Horses, and the late Judy Birdshead. She was born and raised in the Denver Metro area and currently resides with her family in Lakewood, Colorado. Katrina has been dancing in the pow wow arena since she was a toddler and has danced fancy shawl, jingle, and most recently, northern traditional. She loves attending pow wows throughout the United States with her family, meeting new people, and making friends wherever she goes. She is very outgoing and always willing to help in the community whenever she can.
In addition to maintaining her cultural ties by participating in Pow wows, she is also a accomplished scholar. She has maintained her Honor Roll status throughout elementary and middle school and will be attending The Denver Center for International Studies in the fall. She is fortunate to have the support of her family and the Denver Public Schools Indian Education program.
Katrina would like to thank Rose McGuire, Verla Howell, Jay Grimm, Woody White, and Coach Daryle Conquering Bear for always offering their support, guidance, and encouragement.
She is honored to have been selected to represent her community and looks forward to the year ahead!

Many thanks to Lara NoBraid, the 2010-2011 Denver Indian Center Princess for doing an amazing job at representing our community and center.
